This is our submission for the Pirate Software Game Jam 15.

We decided to go with a dungeon crawler very similar to Rogue. 

The theme was Shadows and Alchemy:

  • We incorporated Shadows visually as the player's sight and also as physical shadows that blocked the players vision.
  • We incorporated Alchemy through mechanics. The player can absorb the shadows and then transform those shadows into abilities.
    •  Currently, there's only a 'Shadow Strike' but we were initially planning for more transmutations.
  • For our theme, we went with a mindscape where you're searching through the shadows of your mind to transform your demons into something you can defeat.

This was the first time as a game dev for many of us and we treated it as an opportunity to increase our skills and knowledge. We all love games and were very excited to finally have an excuse to develop something.

Currently, there are no plans to iterate on this game because everyone's so busy. (Life, am I right?)
